Vacation at Udaipur

In year 2016, after a very long summer season finally rain came in the Jaipur, Rajasthan in month of July and our gang want to plan vacation in Jewel of Marwarh, Udaipur 'The city of lakes'. We planned this vacation in end of July as lakes of Udaipur highly filled with water.

Start journey from Jaipur : There is smooth connectivity between Jaipur and Udaipur city via train and bus but we preferred train. It takes approx 8 hours to reached destination.

City Palace: Udaipur is famous for his lakes and City Palace located in front of lake Pichola, our first and for most destination. Weather was pretty awesome and temperature 28 C, we felt silky breeze around in whole environment. Entry ticket in City palace is ₹ 30, ₹ 250 for museum and ₹400 for lake Pichola boat riding individually.

City Palace is one of the biggest palace complexes in the world. It was very nice arrangement by management and museum itself define very deep history of Sisodia Rajput dynasty of Mewar.

Mansoon palace (Sajjangarh): Sajjangarh is 10 km far from City palace at end of the city. I suggest to prefer online taxi service in Udaipur for cheap and best travel with in city. The Monsoon Palace, also known as the Sajjan Garh Palace, is a hilltop palatial residence in the city of Udaipur overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake. Named Sajjangarh after Maharana Sajjan Singh (1874–1884) of the Mewar Dynasty, who built it in 1884. It is said that the Maharana built it at the top of the hill to get a view of his ancestral home, Chittaurgarh. Previously owned by the Mewar royal family. Entry ticket is ₹ 50/- per person and ₹ 90 for pick and drop facility from entrance gate to hill top via their internal vehicles. The palace offers awesome panoramic view of the city's lakes, palaces and surrounding countryside. Sajjangarh biological park is also a good option to see different verity of animals in one place. It’s situated just beneath the Monsoon Palace around 4 km from the city centre.

Fateh sagar lake: Second important lake of Udaipur is Fateh sagar lake, an artificial lake named after MaharanaFateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar. Within the confines of the Fatah Sagar Lake, there are three small islands; the largest of these is the Nehru Park, which is a popular tourist attraction, the second island houses a public park with an impressive water-jet fountain, and the third island is the address for the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO). There are multiple boating facility available at lake with different prices but we choose speed boat ride coasting ₹ 220 per person. Boating duration was almost 4-5 minutes and completely failed to thrill us. Lots of fast food restaurant around the lake is a must visit place to spent your evening good time with friends and family.

Haldighati museum: Museum presents short animation movie related to Maharama Pratap and panorama model with audio that reflect different sceans related to Mewar dynasty.

Kumbhalgarh fort: Kumbhalgarh Fort is a Mewar fortress on the westerly range of Aravalli Hills, in the Rajsamand district. Built during the course of the 15th century by Rana Kumbha, Kumbhalgarh is also the birthplace of Maharana Pratap, the great king and warrior of Mewar. It is the most important fort in Mewar after Chittaurgarh.

Ranakpur Jain temple: Ranakpur is widely known for its marble Jain temple, said to be the most spectacular of the Jain temples along with magnificent architecture and numerous pillars.
Karni mate temple via rope way: Opportunity to ride rope way is very exciting and rare in Aravali hills.
